In December 2015, Horizon Occupational Health Solutions (“Horizon”) acquired Calgary based, Canadian Paramedical Services Inc. (“CPS”).

Stormont acted in the following capacity as the exclusive transaction advisor to Horizon and their private equity partner, Persistence Capital Partners (“Persistence”):
 

• Leveraged comprehensive experience in the industrial medic and safety services market to help narrow down the criteria for investment
• Identified and approached suitable target candidates
• Facilitated introductory meetings between CPS, Persistence and Horizon executives
• Supported Persistence and Horizon in determining “market” commercial terms
• Support through the process as required

 
Horizon Occupational Health Solutions Inc. is a leading Canadian provider of occupational health and emergency services and solutions to industrial clients. Horizon OHS provides health management solutions to clients in remote areas, off-site projects and strategically located areas, providing a range of services including full service health solutions such as annual medicals, on-call physicians, hearing tests, respiratory tests, surveillance programs and pre-employment health screening, as well as onsite solutions such as first responder emergency services, primary care and MEDEVAC.

This transaction provided the major shareholder of CPS with a liquidity event and provided additional market share to Horizon as it continues to expand in strategic markets such as Western Canada’s energy sector.
